Sunny… A poem and a painting, by a guy named Joe

I was walking through town in the rain and snow

Window shopping looking at art

Came across a Van Gogh

Bright yet dark in a beautiful way

“Sunflowers on Gold”

The painting brightened up a cloudy day

=

I was sitting in a park on a pond bank

A fresh piece of canvas

On which to paint

A memory of a beautiful day

Bright yet dark in a beautiful way

Inspired the painting I painted today

Bright and sunny on a dark red

Beautiful flowers I saw inside my head

Bright yet dark in a beautiful way

I wanted to share a poem a piece of art and a bit of my heart. I love art in all it’s shapes and forms, as I grow older I find a greater appreciation of art. I suppose it is another flower as I rushed though life I didn’t stop to smell. I am one of those people that has to be me sometimes hard headed yet being true to who I am. What I was then and now are not the same I have changed as we all must do. In my youth I would look at the art when “I had to go to the museum” some I liked usually when it was almost picture perfect. I would look at some of the paintings and wonder how that was considered art, especially some of the pieces considered the greatest or most known pieces of all history.

I have found a deeper meaning in artistic expression and the depth of heart sometimes expressed. It may just be that I am viewing the pieces differently because they are creations shared from the depths of ones heart, a beautiful way to view the art from ones heart. I am no Van Gogh yet I am a simple man Joe… I hope you enjoyed the poem and the painting inspired by one of the greats.

Thank you for allowing me to share a thought or two and perhaps a smile or two Thank you for being the change positive and making our world a better place for all we share it with. Please, Share a smile and share your love making our world a better place we can always use more. 🙂 Joe

Now, I know I am not His Holiness The Dalai Lama, Jesus Christ, Allah, The Buddha, Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, Tich Nhat Hanh, Dr. Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Amma, Oprah, Deepak Chopra, Biame, or any other global leader, I am just a simple man, someone who cares, someone who wants to make a difference, someone who sheds tears at the state of our world and someone who believes that we can make a difference and who believes in the faith of coming together as one in the name of our children.

So let’s take a look at the following statement.

“An individual has not started living until he/she can rise above the narrow confines of his/her individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”

Wow! Now that’s a statement!

But what does it mean to you and I, to us so called normal people on the…

RUBY CANOE - Home

I kinda miss the days of clipping cool articles…I suppose that is what Pinterest is all about these days…that sounds really old doesn’t it?!

Remember clipping magazine photos and articles.  I remember I had a large scrapbook and I seem to remember I clipped a photo of the couples from ABBA.  The I cut a zig zag between each couple (because they split) and wrote something very very lame above the pictures.  Looked pretty weird.  Weirdo.

Beyond my simple mind… A poem

I took a journey inside myself

To see what I would find

I traveled through the darkness

Created by my mind

As I explored the deepest chasms

The canyons the mountains

I had climbed

At the deepest darkest place a cave

Where I hid the treasures

So later I would find

The light inside the darkness

so bright

So powerful I thought

I must have lived so blind

I found in the darkest place

The light that shines

Beyond the darkness of space and time

The brightness beyond the comprehension

 of my simple mind

I embrace the darkness that led my out of fright

Into the never ending night

To the never ending light

I am grateful for the journey

Beyond my simple mind

The journey to the light

The love I know divine

The love of all that exists

In all creation in all of space and time

The loving light

Beyond the darkness

Of my simple mind

The love I did find

I wish to say thank you for allowing me to share a thought or two, as I have a great appreciation of you and all you do. I hope you choose to embrace the beauty that is you as well as sharing that beauty in all that surrounds you. I know your presence illuminates and brings love to many things if even in the darkness you feel you dwell the light shines brightly in the universe divine the love we share beyond our simple minds.

Thank you for sharing your smiles and your love making our world a better place for all we share it with, we are the change positive making our world a better place for all of the creations loved and created divine if only in my simple mind. 🙂

The Perfect Heart

A heart felt story, and one I can truly embrace… Ladybluerose has a very beautiful heart and a very beautiful gift for sharing some love in our world. This post I had to share as a man with many scars on his heart the story resonates within me and many who have loved and become beautiful in their hearts,,,

A thought to ponder… Bumper stickers and Cake..

I am going to go a direction with this post that may not or may sit well with some people. I am not trying to seem or be judge mental in what I choose to share in this post it is actually an expression of love for all the human beings I share this life and earth with.

A while back several years ago there was a very common thought expressed and many cars shared that thought with a bumper sticker… ” What would Jesus do?”

It is somewhat ironic that as I observe the debate in Utah as well as the recent act of ignorance in Arizona over the same sex marriages and rights of those that are in same sex relationships. In Utah several of the cities or municipalities have chosen to support the rights of all and not to discriminate based on race, creed or sexual preference. The state legislators have chosen to just wait and see as they debate what is appropriate and what is not as far as laws are concerned.  Personally I feel they are waiting for the Mormon Church to take a stand and either accept it for what it is or to play hard ball in the name of “God” and what the religious right perceives is “Gods” word.

It seems to me that the right wing politicians and some of the people that are quite religious are somewhat fanatical in there attempts to force the population to follow their ideology and embrace their concept of morality to the exclusion of the rights of those that may not embrace such concepts. Why do we need a law to protect the rights of the people or the business’s from or for being who they are.. if a store or business in a community chooses to not serve the community in an open way and serve all that are in the community so be it. The community will just shop at another store or business who wants to shop where they are not wanted…

As I watched a news report about a baker in Arizona who chose to be the one to “Make a stand in the name of his lord and God” refused to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple. He made national news and spoke his piece yet it cost his family as well as him his business and lively hood as well as from what I understand his community lost a great bakery. The outcry and the hate mail forced him to close the doors.

I am not a biblical scholar nor am I a religious person, I have however read the bible and have observed the message that Jesus shared. It is about love and acceptance.. Judge not just love who you are and love others for who they are we are none of us perfect.

I would like to ask those right wing and religious people that choose to impose their beliefs and moral standards on those that feel otherwise which in my book is taking away the rights of those people.

What would Jesus do?

Personally form my understanding and what I have read… I believe he would have baked the cake! With a smile and perhaps a tear in his eye he would have baked that cake with all of the love in his heart!

I thank you for allowing me to share a thought or two, I debated even sharing my thoughts on the subject as I am trying to accept both sides of the argument and appreciate that it is not my place to judge. I do however have an opinion and it is one that says if you claim to be representing “god” then perhaps you should look inside and ask… Does a father love any of his children less because they are different or choose to be who they want to be?

Thank you for sharing your smiles and your love and helping make our world a better place for all we share it with!:)

CAKE! 🙂 🙂 🙂
